The problem of the present research is to comprehend the complexities of the discourse of hypocrisy in the Holy Quran; a discourse in which hypocrites attempt to conceal their blasphemous ideology under the guise of faith through linguistic structures, thereby evading responsibility for their destructive actions. Accordingly, the objective of this research is to expose the hidden ideological mechanisms of the hypocrites and to elucidate the Quran’s counter-patterns in neutralizing this deceptive approach. This study is conducted using a descriptive-analytical method from the perspective of critical stylistics, relying on Roger Fowler’s theoretical framework, based on the premise that language is never neutral and structures reproduce ideology. The analyses focus on two main syntactic mechanisms: the system of “Transitivity” and “Modality”.The results indicate that in the realm of transitivity, hypocrites attempt to deny their agency in negative actions(such as corruption) by shifting the process from a material one (temporary action) to a relational one(permanent attribute)to distance themselves from responsibility. However, the Quranic discourse invalidates this strategy by decisively re-imposing agency and linking it to a defective mental process(lack of consciousness/perception),and it reflects the agency of their deception back onto themselves through restrictive structures. Furthermore, in the area of modality, hypocrites employ a high density of strong emphatic tools to compensate for their lack of inner sincerity. The critical discourse of the Quran rejects this false epistemic claim through an absolute negation structure and reveals the weakness of their behavioral commitment to religious obligations via adverbs of weak manner(such as sluggishness and reluctance).
