. The present study, using a descriptive-analytical method and a comparative approach, examines the views of Zamakhshari, Fakhr Razi, and Allama Tabataba'i on the use of metaphor and metaphor in selected verses on the Day of Judgment in Juz' 30 of the Quran. The main issue of the study is how these three commentators, considering their interpretive and theological foundations, have established a relationship between the appearance of words, the possibility of interpretation, the rhetorical functions of the expressions, and the realism of the language of the Quran in describing the Day of Judgment. The findings show that the analysis of metaphor and simile in these verses is not complete by examining the literal meaning of the words alone, but rather depends on such axes as the authority of the appearances of the words, the limits of interpretation, the role of the parallel, the position of reason and theological foundations, the relationship of metaphor and simile with the rhetoric of the Quran, and the realism of the language of the Quran. In most of the examples examined, Fakhr al-Razi emphasizes preserving the literal appearance and avoiding the parallel interpretation, and considers the interpretations of the resurrection to refer to the objective realities of the hereafter. Zamakhshari, relying on Mu'tazilite principles and a rhetorical approach, highlights the figurative, allegorical, and approximate capacity of the Quranic language. Allameh Tabataba'i, with a Shiite perspective and a rational-interpretive perspective, establishes a connection between the appearance of words, the afterlife truth.
